Crowd Sourced Party Tips

Salient asked you about your partying habits and your best party advice. The results are in.

Tips for throwing a good party?

  1. Have a theme (costume parties are way more fun, especially if you really commit)

  2. Take your drink with you everywhere you go

  3. Play 80s tunes, better than DnB here in Dunedin

  4. UE Boom on charger at all times

  5. A big area to dance

  6. Provide the space and people will come, provide the tunes and they’ll stick around

  7. Tell everyone it starts an hour and a half before you want it to

  8. Colourful lights (put cellophane over them) and at least turn the main ceiling light off

  9. Get the decks out and hire a smoke machine

  10. Invite people who have good vibes and don’t care about what other people think

  11. Have enough toilet paper

  12. Buckets around for rubbish/vomit

  13. Always have heaps of food!

  14. Don’t try too hard, just let people do their thing and it usually works out

  15. Baked potatoes half way through the night impresses everyone, trust

  16. Have a banging playlist
